I will update this Kajabi review anytime I learn something new and useful about the platform. I will share both pros and cons. As of February 2020, I am brand new to Kajabi. On the one hand, this is positive because I’ll be able to provide you with my user experience from the get-go. On the other hand, it’s a negative because I haven’t had the opportunity to use Kajabi in its full capacity as a creator yet. However, I have used Kajabi as a student since November 2018, which is part of the reason I was easily sold on using it for my own course and membership.
Warning: This is an opinionated, biased review. I love this platform! 😍
For those that aren’t familiar with Kajabi, it’s an all-in-one platform for Internet business people. Their website allows you to create e-mail opt-ins, landing pages, forms, web pages, blog posts, courses, memberships and even coaching programs. My coach said she wishes she would have known about Kajabi from the beginning because it offers so much for an excellent price. A lot of times, people, such as my coach, end up purchasing subscriptions to several platforms, which can be more costly. Speaking of cost, how much is Kajabi?
Kajabi pricing ranges from $119 a month to $319 a month if you pay for it annually. If you decide to pay monthly it ranges from $149 a month to $399 a month. They have 3 plans: basic, growth and pro. I am starting out with the basic plan.
The great thing is, if you use someone’s referral link you can do the 28 day challenge which allows you to use the platform for FREE for 28 days. They also provide training videos to help you get acclimated with their platform. As someone who has used Convertkit and Clickfunnels, I can tell you that it is WAY more user friendly than both of those platforms and their pages are much more pleasing to the eye.
If you are interested in starting the 28 day Kajabi challenge, my referral link is here. I do get a commission if you end up paying after the 28 days is up.
kajabi landing pages
So far I’ve created one landing page for my e-mail opt-in. If you want to check it out to see what it looks like, click here.
Everything was very easy to figure out with Kajabi landing pages. First of all, most of the platform is self-explanatory. Second, if you are confused about anything, it is super easy to contact someone using their help button. They offer a chat box where you can write a message to someone from customer service who walks you through whatever you need help with.
Kajabi membership site
Currently I can only offer my experience as a student with the Kajabi membership site. Overall it is user friendly. I’ve used it for 3 courses with three different creators: Kayse Morris, Rick Mulready and Jenna Kutcher. Overall, they are all user friendly and easy to navigate. You integrate your brand colors. Everything appears beautifully within your website, but it is hosted with a Kajabi domain that integrates your brand’s name. You can customize all links using whatever slug you prefer.
As a student, only one person’s course had difficult navigation back to the homepage. However, being that I was a student in two other Kajabi hosted courses, I think it had to do with the way the owner set up their course. In that sense, be cognizant of allowing the user to easily navigate back to the homepage of the course.
I tried Clickfunnels for a year and I did not find it user friendly. I would get stuck for hours on one tiny area of the dashboard. Can we say, waste of time? Not only that, but Clickfunnels is way more expensive than Kajabi and you’re not getting as much on their platform. I paid $297 a month for Clickfunnels. Kajabi is $119 a month and I’m getting WAY more from their platform.
Kajabi offers e-mail on their platform. To be totally transparent, I’m still using Convertkit for e-mail, but will stay open-minded about switching to Kajabi for e-mail once I hear some customer reviews about it.
Kajabi provides a membership site and software for course creation and other types of memberships. They also offer forums for your community.
You get landing pages, forms, and blog posts on Kajabi.
Essentially, you can get everything you could imagine for your entrepreneur website with Kajabi. That’s why it’s referred to as an “all-in-one” platform.
Overall, my Clickfunnels review is around 5/10. I think they’re overpriced, sales-oriented rather than customer-oriented, and the platform isn’t user-friendly.
Kajabi is customer-focused, has a much cleaner look and feel on their website and dashboard, and is extremely well-priced for what they offer. They also have a great affiliate program. You can earn over $400 a year if just one person uses your referral link. Not only that, but if you get their growth plan for $159 a month you can create affiliate links for your customers to share your course or membership.
Kajabi Partner Program
When you become an affiliate (partner) with Kajabi, here’s what happens (this is why I say they’re customer-centered:
- If someone uses your referral link to join Kajabi you get 30% lifetime commission for any new member you sign up
- Your first sign up can allow you to earn up to $1119.60 a year
- With 3 active referrals you can earn up to $3,358.80 a year
- Then, with 5 active referrals you can earn up to $5,598.00
- It keeps growing until you get to 200 referrals (see the photo below)
They allow you to earn more and more commission for your referrals. You can become a “legend” partner with 200 or more active referrals which allows you to earn up to $111,960.00 a year.
Why does Kajabi offer such a great partner program? Because they appreciate their customers and know that our growth is their growth.
You might be thinking, well of course you’re going to speak highly of this company, look at all the commissions you get if I use your referral link. My answer: Of course I would appreciate if you use my referral link, but I would NEVER write a blog post about a company I don’t like. I could have written about Clickfunnels to use their referral link when I used their platform for over a year, but I wasn’t a happy customer so I never promoted their product.
Clickfunnels is the closest competitor to Kajabi in terms of offering more than just landing pages and forms. However, Leadpages, Convertkit, and Memeberpress could also be considered competitors.
Why pay for several subscriptions when you can get everything with Kajabi for a better price?
You might think that all you need to get started with your website is something like Leadpages, but if you’re looking to grow your business long-term and create a course or membership for your audience, Kajabi is the best for leadpages alternatives.
In my case, I used Convertkit forms instead of buying Leadpages because I was debating on whether or not to buy Kajabi and Leadpages together. However, my coach that runs a 7-figure business told me Leadpages is unnecessary. She uses Kajabi’s landing pages and they look great. Again, if you want to see an example of a landing page, click here.
clickfunnels vs leadpages
While I haven’t subscribed to Leadpages, I know enough about it to tell you the differences on Clickfunnels vs. Leadpages.
- E-mail opt-in forms
- Landing Pages
- Sales Pages
- Sales Funnels
- Data tracking to send automated e-mails to subscribers based on their actions
- Web Hosting
- E-mail opt-in forms
- Beautifully designed landing pages
- Create a website
- Ability to choose landing pages based on the highest converting pages
What’s missing from both of these that Kajabi offers? Full website capabilities and the ability to create and host a course for your customers.
kajabi vs clickfunnels
Kajabi is much more aesthetically pleasing and easier to integrate with your brand. Clickfunnels pages look like they are from the 1990s or early 2000s. There’s no depth or personality to them.
Kajabi has the option to build a course while Clickfunnels only offers a membership.
One pro that Clickfunnels has over Kajabi is their analytics for e-mails, but Kajabi is working on that because their customers have asked for it. For now, I’m sticking with Convertkit for my e-mail list.
Price-wise, Kajabi is much more reasonable based on what they’re offering; an all-in-one option for Internet business creators.
