Usually we don’t relate the term financial abundance with the field of education. Yet there are more and more educators creating financial abundance through educational businesses such as selling teaching resources, blogging, YouTube, and digital course creation. So if you’re wondering if financial abundance is possible as an educator, it is! Even during uncertain times, you can steer your path towards financial abundance and if you want some inspiration on mindset, check out this blog post. For now, let’s get into manifesting abundance.
Manifesting abundance is kind of a guru phrase, but let’s take the guru out of it and put the logic back in. In my experience there are three steps to manifesting abundance:
- Choose the amount of money you want to make
- Focus on a niche or a path to get you there
- Take consistent steps toward your goal
One of my financial goals was to make $5,000 a month teaching ESL online without working extra hours. In fact, I mostly work 20-30 hours a week to this day and I consistently make between $4K to $6K a month. I focused on the online ESL teaching community as my niche and my consistent steps included blogging, posting videos and affiliate marketing. If you want to learn more about affiliate marketing check out my post on passive income or side jobs for teachers.
Exponential growth business
Working consistently does create an exponential growth business model because the more you share the more traffic you get to your social media outlets or your website. Of course you have to share valuable content. It can’t be willy-nilly. You’ll know if your content is valuable if your audience is asking you questions on a consistent basis.
Be sure to have a strategic mindset about your financial abundance goals. Most of you reading this are online ESL teachers because that’s who I serve. Remember, as online ESL teachers we are independent contractors, which means we build a clientele teaching online by booking regular students. But I want you to go farther than that. Start thinking strategically about how to build your business outside of the classroom. What are you passionate about? How can your passion lead you to financial abundance? Can you sell teaching resources? Would you be able to create a digital course that serves teachers? Whatever you create, make sure it serves a niche audience, but not so niche that you won’t have enough customers.
Make sure your strategic mindset leads to working strategically. I do this by batch working my blog posts. Every quarter I brainstorm 12 blog posts. Those 12 posts set me up for 3 months worth of content across all media outlets; blog, Facebook business page, YouTube and Instagram. First I post my blog then later that week I do a Facebook live about my blog post topic. I then repurpose my Facebook live with an edited version on YouTube and a sneak peek on Instagram. It all flows seamlessly together.
strategic planning skills
Once you have a system you won’t feel like you need some special strategic planning skills. The first time I heard about someone repurposing their content I was like, “Ohhhh! Now it all makes sense.” You shouldn’t be posting something completely different on all social media outlets. Everything should fit together like a puzzle. That’s what strategic planning skills help you do. You work smarter instead of working harder.
Building Financial Abundance
Once you have a system, work on your goal consistently. That is what creates exponential growth. It’s layer, upon layer of work helping you move closer and closer toward your financial dream. Compare your work to constructing a brick building. Every brick you lay gets you closer to the completion of your brick building; your project; your masterpiece.
While my main job is teaching ESL online I’m constantly working towards something bigger to support myself independently. I believe in multiple streams of revenue because having all of your eggs in one basket is always risky. Make it a point to have multiple streams of revenue as part of your financial abundance plan.
Law of attraction books
Now getting back to the guru stuff and adding in some more logic. In my opinion, law of attraction isn’t just about visualizing something over and over again until it comes to fruition. It’s about visualizing and taking steps toward your dream, just like your brick building. You design the building and then lay another brick each day until the whole thing is finished. There will be hiccups along the way, but you don’t let that stop you. Instead, you take more training on how to overcome whatever obstacle comes your way.

The Secret gives examples of how people use visualization to create financial abundance. People share real life examples of how they cured disease, became wealthy, and overcame obstacles. They talk about using “The Secret” in all areas of life.
Jack Canfield, the creator of Chicken Soup for the Soul made his first $100,000 by visualizing making $100,000 in a year. With that visualization in mind he went from a regular salary to making over $90,000 in one year. It was all thanks to creating Chicken Soup for the Soul and in his book, Success Principles, Canfield explains how anyone can create success no matter where they live or where they come from.
THE SLIGHT EDGE
Just like I gave the brick laying analogy, Jeff Olson, author of The Slight Edge explains what makes a successful person different from everyone else. It’s all about staying laser focused on your goal and working on it consistently. The vast majority of people give up too soon on their dream. Jeff Olson inspires you not to give up and explains why hard work truly does pay off.
THE FOUR AGREEMENTS
If you want to reach financial abundance it’s so important to have your emotional, spiritual and mental health in order. The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz is all about making a promise to yourself to let go of what is not serving you and embrace what does.
